Common smart lock glass panel and processing technology inventory
In the front of the Smart Lock plate, the common ones are acrylic, glass, etc., among which, the glass has become one of the commonly used smart lock panel materials because of its good light transmission and high appearance level.
In addition, the smart lock panel will often be touched in daily use, and compared with acrylic, the glass material panel is better in terms of sensitivity, wear resistance, etc., so it has become the first choice of many manufacturers.
With the continuous development of industry products, the types of smart lock glass panels have gradually begun to enrich. In this issue, Xiaobian gives you an inventory of some of the types and characteristics of glass panels in the industry, hoping to give you more awareness of this aspect.
Tempered glass
The principle of tempered glass is to treat ordinary glass by physical or legal means, forming uniform compressive stress on the surface, and forming tensile stress inside, so that the strength of the glass has been significantly improved.
The tempered glass that has been tempered can no longer be processed or damaged by any cutting, grinding, etc., otherwise it will break due to the destruction of the uniform compressive stress balance. When the tempered glass is damaged, it will break into small obtuse particles similar to honeycomb, which are not easy to cause serious harm to the human body.
In the promotion of smart lock manufacturers, we often see that the tempered glass is often accompanied by some prefixes, such as 5H, 7H and so on. These prefixes refer to the hardness of the glass, and the higher the number, the higher the hardness.
In addition, tempered glass is also divided into flat and curved tempered glass. In the industry, we can also see some manufacturers of Door Locks, the front panel uses curved tempered glass, such as Morgan smart lock.
Under the type of tempered glass, smart lock manufacturers also continue to innovate, and further choices are made according to product and consumption positioning.
2.5D tempered glass
2.5D tempered glass is a glass processing technology, generally speaking, 2D tempered glass is flat, 3D is curved, and 2.5D combines the characteristics of both. 2.5D glass has a small edge curvature and does not have a large bend like 3D glass, so it is relatively easy to manufacture and process.
2.5D usually refers to glass that has a slight curved edge while the central part remains flat. This design provides a better edge grip while maintaining the flat display of the screen. What's more, the 2.5D tempered glass screen does not cause poor vision.
Corning Gorilla Glass
The glass is produced by the American Corning company, itself is a kind of specialty glass, since 2010, Corning company has modified the product for the consumer electronics industry, introducing a new generation of Corning Gorilla Glass, thinner than the previous products, some can even bend. Corning Gorilla Glass is often used in mobile phones and tablets, and the iphone4 uses the first generation of Corning Gorilla Glass.
Kunlun glass
Kunlun glass is a nanocrystalline glass material, which makes the toughness of glass greatly improved by growing a number of high strength nanocrystals in the glass.
The above lists the types of glass that the industry is currently more numerous and that have been used by brands. In addition to material selection, in recent years, a variety of surface treatment processes for smart lock cover glass have also emerged in the industry.
AG anti-glare glass
AG glass, also known as anti-reflective glass and anti-glare glass, is a kind of glass that is specially processed on the glass surface. Its characteristic is that through the etching process, the reflective surface of the original glass becomes a matte non-reflective surface (surface roughness), and the reflectivity of the light is reduced from 8% to less than 1%.
As can be seen from the name, the remarkable feature of this glass is anti-glare, in addition, because of these tiny particles and irregularity on the surface, so that the finger can feel a very fine frosting feeling when brushing on the AG glass, giving people a comfortable and delicate sense of skin. Importantly, AG glass is not as susceptible to fingerprints as ordinary glass.
AF anti-fingerprint glass
In addition to AG, AF glass treatment technology has also begun to be applied in the industry. AF is known as anti-fingerprint treatment, mainly through technical means, the formation of an oleophobic surface coating on the glass surface, reducing the ability of the cover plate to block finger grease. AF glass will cause finger oil to form a bead on the surface of the glass, which is easier to remove.
